Gocce - Relitti di Naufragi

Gocce - Relitti di Naufragi, a play written and directed by Stefania Buraschi and Giulia Sara Borghi.

Set against the backdrop of the Mediterranean crisis, this play follows three ordinary Italian women whose daily lives are inevitably pierced by the relentless tide of news: shipwrecks, lost children, drowned bodies washing up on familiar shores. At first distant observers, they become increasingly haunted by the stories until the boundary between “us” and “them” begins to dissolve. In a final act of empathy and reckoning, they shed their clothes, their comforts, and their certainty, stepping into the imagined lives of the migrants themselves. Blending realism with symbolic transformation, the piece is a visceral exploration of collective denial, inherited privilege, and the fragile, powerful act of imagining the other as oneself.
