L'Orestea

Le Erinni

L'Orestea - Le regole del Giogo. "The Oresteia" by Aeschylus, adapted and directed by Maurizio Schmidt.

This bold adaptation of The Oresteia, Aeschylus’s monumental trilogy, returns to the primal essence of ancient Greek theatre. Spanning three and a half hours, the performance strips the work of any ornament: no costumes, no props, no distractions. A chorus of actors, sharing and shifting roles, embody every character across the arc of Agamemnon, The Libation Bearers, and The Eumenides, just as performers did in its earliest stagings.

In this raw and rigorous form, the power of the text, the human voice, and the body in space are all that remain. The audience is invited into a shared ritual, an unflinching confrontation with fate, justice, vengeance, and transformation. Ancient words echo with renewed urgency, offering not a historical reconstruction, but a visceral and immediate experience of tragedy in its purest form.
