Worktable by Kate McIntosh is a participatory installation that invites the audience into a quiet, methodical act of destruction and transformation. Upon entering, each participant is given an object and guided by the soothing voices of the performers into a series of rooms where they dismantle it using real tools. What begins as a playful or curious gesture quickly becomes a meditation on breaking, making, and the unseen labor behind both. Equal parts performance, installation, and personal ritual, Worktable challenges us to reconsider our relationship with objects, creation, and the unexpected beauty of disassembly.
